Mommy Style Monday: Must-Have Toys

Mommy Style Monday is a blog series my friend Kiana and I created, so that we could share our style with each other and moms like us! Style is an all encompassing word. It can mean a lot more than just what you're wearing, and everyone has their own unique style in every aspect of their lives.  Our hope is to share our "mommy style" with others, to inspire and have fun! I feel like as a mom (especially a stay at home mom like myself) it's really easy to get in a rut. I love seeing other people's take on motherhood, and I love it even more when I know it's something I can easily implement into my routine. It's totally possible to feel like a million bucks without spending a million bucks. Being a mom isn't always glamorous, but we can help each other out by sharing what we do to make it beautiful, with as little effort as possible ;). Every first and third Monday of the month we will have a Mommy Style Monday post sharing different inspiration for fashion, makeup routines, diaper bag organization, nursery decor, favorite baby books and toys, date night ideas, etc. We are all here to help each other out!

If you would like to be a part of the next Mommy Style Monday, fill out the form here. We would be thrilled to have you! If you know of a cute mama who has style to share, let her know about this link up!

This weeks Mommy Style is all about toys. To be honest, I've kind of felt like buying toys is the biggest waste of money ha ha. Because guess what my baby wants to play with more than anything else? Garbage. Straight up garbage. Bubble wrap, junk mail, business cards, and pieces of lint. He's also really into things like nail clippers, actual car keys, pens, highlighters, and pots and pans.

But there is one toy... One toy to rule them all. (Disclaimer: I can't actually say that 100% because I haven't had all the toys ever made, so you know, use your own discretion. Don't come crying to me if your kid doesn't like this toy as much as mine, is what I'm saying.)

Alex and I saw this toy at THE BEST store in Cannon Beach, Oregon. It's called Voyages Toy Co., so if you ever go there I'm telling you, go inside! This is the toy store of any kids dreams. It's still the toy store of my dreams, and I'm an adult. I always drag everyone inside with me because there are just so many cool things to see. Anyway, they have a little baby section too, and we decided we wanted to get something for Nathan. Even though he doesn't usually care about toys for that long, and even though we'd have to somehow fit it in our suitcases. We discussed some rattles, but Nathan has never shown much interest. There were some blocks, but it didn't seem like he was quite old enough yet. Then I saw this stackable toy, and it was love at first sight! Nathan's favorite thing to do is destroy things! (we're working on it) We bought it and took it back to our condo, and when Nathan saw the package he started freaking out! We took it away so that we could open it with some scissors, and he burst into tears! It was love at first sight for him too. And I'm not even kidding you, three months later and he still plays with it EVERY DAY. The top yellow ball is his favorite. It fits perfectly in his hand, so he carries it everywhere. Sometimes if he's crying I'll say, "Where is your yellow ball??" And he'll immediately stop and look around for it.

This toy is straight up MAGIC. He often knocks it over before I can even build the whole thing, but he's started building it back up now! You can find it here.

I can't wait to see what the other mommies have to say about toys for their kids! Check them out down below. And don't forget to sign up for next time! We'd love to have you!
