People say that the first year of marriage is the hardest. In our case, I have to disagree. The first year brought some normal challenges, like learning how to be married... but we easily navigated those challenges, and laughed in their faces! It seems like the second we had officially been married for one year, the harder stuff started showing up. Mid-life crisis that turn into deciding to move across the country, deciding to have a baby, applying for grad school, deciding to have four jobs (me)... We definitely had to learn to rely on each other, trust each other, and work together. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. Seems like it will be good to have a lot of those learning moments under our belts so when we get to Indiana we're a little more prepared to literally just be the two of us taking on the world.
Alex, I love you. I love you and I like you. I like your made up words to songs. I think it's a little funny when you turn the lights off on me when I'm going up the stairs at night. I like all your 100% original jokes. I love cuddling with you. I love talking about the future with you. I love rooting for you, and I love being proud of you. You're the absolute best person I could have chosen to take this life journey with, and I'm glad our crazy story worked out so we could be together.
Love love love you. Here's to the next million years!
